Singapore Math Placement Tests

Students who come to the Primary Mathematics from another curriculum may not have the necessary background to begin at the level suggested in this guide without review from earlier levels. We suggest that you use the placement tests to decide where to place place students new to Primary Mathematics, or to get an idea of which concepts may have to be reviewed from an earlier level.

These tests cover the material for the level indicated on the tests. Therefore, each test is really an exit test for the level, and can be used to see what types of problems are given in the curriculum. An overall score of 80% and above on a test is a good indicator that the student has the skills to go on to the next level. 
However, if a student consistently misses problems from the same topic, you should consider starting at the tested level regardless of the overall score.
Suggested time for taking tests: These tests are not supposed to be timed.

The Elementary Math series if for Junior High and High School.  The Singapore Math series is more advanced that our typical US math programs, therefore it's not rare that the Elementary series will cover the full high school years.
